INTRO TO HORSES ~ This camp is specifically for beginners who are new to horses or have very little experience. It is also a good option for our younger lesson students who are new to riding in a group setting. This camp will focus on building a solid foundation of the basics of horse care, management, vocabulary, and riding. They will also be assigned a horse for the week to take care of to get an understanding of the needs and responsibility required in taking care of these fabulous creatures.
HORSEMASTERS ~ This camp is designed for current students of all levels and returning campers. Each week will be tailored to it’s participants. Riding groups will be divided by level and we will set personal goals for each student for the week. We will test their horsemanship knowledge with fun games and introduce new skills in fun interactive ways. This camp will be different each week, so kids that participate in multiple weeks will continue to be challenged and experience growth in both their knowledge of horses and riding skills.
JUMPING FUNDAMENTALS ~ This camp is specifically designed and highly recommended for students who are jumping, have just started jumping, or will soon start. Riding groups and lessons covered will be divided by level. The fundamentals and mechanics of jumping will be covered including developing a secure position, timing, understanding striding and how to adjust to get the correct distance, where and when to look, and more. New exercises will be introduced including exercises on the flat to improve position, pole work and gymnastics designed to increase stability in their position. Students will also learn special care involved in taking care of a jumper and about the history of jumping and the different types of jumping: hunters, equitation, jumpers, eventers, stadium jumping, and more.
